Aufarbeitung der deutsch-deutschen Grenze sinnvoll?

Geht diese Art der Aufarbeitung aber nicht in die Richtung Kommerz? Denkt auch darüber einmal nach, liebe Leute!

wie meist Du das ? Kommerz ist doch heute nahezu überall, deswegen verwundert mich nichts mehr. Bezeichnend zum alten Denken ist aber die Meinung von Joseph. Ist immerhin interessant wie nach 15 Jahren immer noch solche Meinungen existieren.

Hallo,
ich finde eine Aufarbeitung schon wichtig. Ich bin selber noch ziemlich jung und habe die Öffnung der Grenze damals zwar mitbekommen, aber nicht richtig registriert. Das liegt vielleicht daran, das ich niemanden in der DDR kannte. Langsam interessiere ich mich dafür und stelle erstaunt fest wieviel noch von der Grenze übrig ist. Wir wohnen jetzt seit einigen Jahren in Nürnberg und waren im letzten Herbst das erste Mal an der "Grenze" bei Coburg. Es ist schon beeindruckend und je mehr man sich damit beschäftigt umso mehr ist man davon fasziniert. Meine Frau und ich wollen in diesem Sommer vielleicht einmal ein Stück im Norden bewandern.

I can not understand why the reconstruction of the wall is a issue at all. I was a soldier and an officer in Norway in the 1980`s. We were always teached that there was a gigantic power in the east that wanted to expand themselves, politically, culturally and geograpically. This power is now detronized. In the military we were a little narrowminded, I`ll admit. We did not devide the East Block in their many diversities, but considered it as ONE unit that was our "enimy". DDR was a part of this unit in this respect. We were well aware of the propaganda and the attemts of the authorithies of the east-block countries to manipulate the public of the western countries. Remember we had a lot of people that sypathized with the communists also here. A lot of our youths partiicipated in the "Ost-See Tage" in Rostock and in similar events several places in the east. They of course got impulses and they were surely impressed of what they saw. But what did they see? I think it was a glamourous picture of the communism. The communism has in my opinion many nice aspects, but in practical it was suppressing and buildt on fear. Does anybody want the fear to come back? Of course many want the social security to come back, I can understand.(And many wants their SED privilegies to come back) But as germans I think you will manage to maintain and improve your materialistic standards. I will tell you to be proud of your history and your capasities both human and otherwise. To the borderpatrolmen I will say that you did your duty, and that is nothing to be ashamed of. What supprised me after the unification was that the low rank patrolmen was blamed. My question is: What would the russians do if the East Germans did not guard the border? I will remind you of what happen to the soldiers of the Wehrmacht if they did not their duty. And I will remind you of that Wehrmacht was found not guilty at Nurnberg.
